The latest edition of Spotify’s annual “Wrapped 2025” has reaffirmed Pakistan’s evolving musical taste: Talha Anjum has once again emerged as the top-streamed Pakistani artist for the second consecutive year.

Surge in Local Streaming
According to Spotify’s data, music consumption in Pakistan grew by 70 percent during 2025, underscoring a significant shift toward homegrown talent.
Talha Anjum’s continued dominance reflects not just individual popularity but also a broader trend: local artists — especially those from younger, hip-hop and contemporary music scenes — are receiving unprecedented listener support.

Who Else Made the Cut
- Rising stars like Umair and Hasan Raheem joined Talha Anjum in the Top 10 Pakistani artists list; long-standing favorites like Atif Aslam and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan also retained their presence.
- On the songs front: “Jhol” by Maanu & Annural Khalid remained the most-streamed track in Pakistan, followed by “Pal Pal” by Afusic & AliSoomroMusic, and “Maand” by Bayaan, Hasan Raheem and Rovalio.
- Album-wise, Safar by Bayaan topped the list. Other top albums included My Terrible Mind and Open Letter by Talha Anjum and Umair, and ROCKSTAR WITHOUT A GUITAR by Umair.

What This Means for the Pakistani Music Scene
The data suggest a clear generational and stylistic shift: hip-hop and modern genres are gaining real traction, while legacy voices continue to shape the musical landscape. The spike in streaming and the diversity in top-ranked songs and albums point toward a more dynamic, homegrown music ecosystem that resonates strongly with younger listeners.
Meanwhile, Spotify’s expanded Wrapped features — like Listening Archive and Listening Age — allow users to revisit and share their year of music, making year-end reflection more interactive than ever.
