With the release of iOS 26, Apple has officially included full compatibility for the Urdu language. This means that people in Pakistan who use iPhones and iPads may now utilize the whole iOS interface in their own language.
The Urdu localization feature was first spotted earlier this year in iOS 18.4 Beta 3, where developers and testers got an early look. Now, with iOS 26, the feature is available to all compatible Apple devices, making iOS more inclusive for millions of Urdu speakers.
What’s New in iOS 26 for Urdu Users?
With this update, users can navigate the complete iOS interface in Urdu — including system menus, settings, notifications, and built-in Apple apps. The option is available under the “iPhone Language” settings and can be enabled in just a few taps.

How to Enable Urdu on iOS 26:
- Go to Settings
 - Tap General → Language & Region
 - Select iPhone Language → Urdu
 - Your device will restart to apply the changes

This update is especially impactful for Pakistan’s 125 million+ Urdu speakers, offering better accessibility for people who are more comfortable with their native language — including first-time smartphone users and the elderly.
What’s Still Missing?
While the iOS interface now fully supports Urdu, features like Siri voice commands, voice dictation, and most third-party apps do not yet offer Urdu integration. Apple has not announced a timeline for expanding these capabilities.
Still, the addition of a full Urdu interface is a major step forward in making iOS more user-friendly for Pakistani users.
