The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has engaged experts for the Prime Minister’s Cloud Program for Startups as part of efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s cloud ecosystem and support technology-based startups.
The initiative is being implemented through Ignite National Technology Fund and forms part of the government’s broader digital transformation strategy focused on cloud adoption and infrastructure development.
According to officials, the Prime Minister’s Cloud Program for Startups will run for one year and is aimed at helping Pakistani startups adopt, optimise and scale their operations using cloud infrastructure.
Under the programme, startups will be provided support through a tiered cloud reimbursement model, technical enablement and collaboration with cloud service providers. The objective is to reduce early-stage infrastructure costs and promote efficient use of cloud services.
Officials said the programme is designed to build a sustainable and locally relevant cloud ecosystem by supporting startups at key stages of growth.
Improved access to cloud resources is expected to enhance innovation, scalability and competitiveness of Pakistani startups in regional and global markets.
Ignite is engaging experienced cloud and technology professionals to serve as experts for the programme. These experts will be responsible for evaluating and selecting high-potential startups, advising them on cloud adoption strategies, architecture design and cost optimization, and facilitating coordination with cloud service providers.
According to program details, the experts will be compensated through meeting-based honoraria in line with approved provisions.
The involvement of industry professionals is intended to ensure practical guidance, informed decision-making and effective implementation of cloud solutions across participating startups.
