On 20 February 2025, Pakistani consumers witnessed the formal arrival of Chinese SUV-maker Jetour, as it unveiled its first two locally-assembled models — the 5-seater Dashing and the 7-seater X70 Plus.
The launch event, held in Lahore, showcased Jetour’s intention to carve a role in Pakistan’s rapidly growing SUV market by combining technology, comfort and value in vehicles that will be assembled through a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route.
Jetour’s Pakistani arm discloses that both models—Dashing and X70 Plus—are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The Dashing is positioned as a five-seater for urban families, while the X70 Plus caters to the seven-seater segment, offering broader utility.
Beyond the powertrain, these SUVs come with a strong feature set: dual-10.25-inch displays in the Dashing, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, voice commands, and advanced driver-assistance systems such as blind-spot detection and 360° parking assist.
From a pricing perspective, the Dashing’s introductory figure in Pakistan is around PKR 8.465 million for the Deluxe variant, placing it competitively within the mid-sized SUV category.
For Jetour, entering Pakistan signals a strategic expansion of its global footprint. The brand has committed to establishing dealerships and a service network, positioning itself as a value-tech SUV alternative in the “Travel+” segment.
Going forward, Jetour is not resting on these two models alone: it has announced plans to launch off-road oriented models such as the T1 and T2 in Pakistan, signalling a broadening of its product range.
The arrival of Jetour in Pakistan presents consumers with another option in the SUV market — one that emphasises modern features and bold styling. The brand’s success will depend on execution of after-sales support, local brand reputation, and its ability to deliver on promised value.
